5 Ways to use our Magnetic Design Tool Set

Although our primary focus is organization, we are still crafters at heart.  The Magnetic Design Tool Set came from a need as crafters.  This set includes a 12.5″x 12.5″ magnetic mat, 13″ magnetic ruler and 8 small, SUPER-strong magnets (these little magnets are for adult use only-keep them away from small children).  Click on images to view larger.

How can this tool set help you in your paper crafting?

Plan a scrapbook page or card layout

Start with your background paper or card base.  Use the super strong small magnets to hold it in place.  Next add photos and other elements – use the small magnets to hold those in place.  I use the Magnetic Design mat on top of our Scrapbooker’s Rotating Design Board.

Basic Element Alignment

Because the magnetic ruler “sticks” wherever you put it down, it’s easy to create a straight line across your project.

The ruler holds your background paper in place and gives you an edge along which you can line up your photos or other elements.

Creating small elements for pages and cards

Working with small pieces can be tricky.  Use the magnetic board and ruler to hold your small elements in place while you work with them.

I used the ruler two ways with this small element; first to hold it down, second to line up the letters LEGO.

Draw a straight line

It is a “ruled” set, after all – you can certainly use it to help draw a straight line.

You’ll love the fact that the magnetic ruler helps hold the paper in place while you draw your line.

Add glitter glue and other messy stuff

After I drew the line on the card base above, I wanted to cover the line with glitter glue (click on the image to view larger).  I put the Magnetic Design mat on top of my Scrapbooker’s Rotating Design Board so I could rotate my project and get a better angle for drawing with the glitter glue.  I used the ruler to anchor the card while I was drawing with the glitter glue.  Because these magnetic pieces have a slick surface, cleaning off any smudges is easy.

Thanks for stopping by today to learn a little about our Magnetic Design Tool Set.  I know you’re going to love working with it.

  1. I have a WRM Precision Press that desperately needs a magnetic insert. Do you think this magnetic sheet and ruler are strong enough to hold my paper in place for multiple stamping?
